blog pimpin' in nyc, part II

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get tired of reading the same old same old. In the interest of spicing up your lives, I want to introduce you to a few new, or new to me, sites that have me reading hungrily.

First, whether you have a purely intellectual interest in questions of race and porn, an intellectual prurience in racial porn, or something somewhere in between, you need to check out Ethnorotica. This very pretty site endeavors to present women of color in ways that transgress the fetishistic and thought-free formats of conventional mainstream porn. Come for the gorgeous women, stay for the clever and sly writing. It’s good-humored, intelligent and hott.

I don’t know if she’s a woman of color, but I do know she’s a colorful woman. Sexeteria’s Miss Syl serves up piping hot and well-written servings of sex talk. While many sex writers have a tendency toward preaching to their randy choirs, Miss Syl writes thoughtfully, generally crafting her posts in ways that look multiple sides of an issue. Plus, she does research. You have to love a woman who knows how to rock a database or two.

Cherry Bomb, whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, is a rare gem among young women, and being a woman of a certain age, I can say that with a body of knowledge (as well as a knowledge of bodies). She’s a young ’un, and she’s also smart, sexy, vulnerable, honest and brave. Plus the Tolkien-loving bee-yatch can write. Dita Von Teese wishes she were la Bomb.

Another NYC young ‘un you need to read is Flint. He’s passionately ambivalent, my Flint, and that is something I can relate to in a dude. Flint might have the amorous attention span of a beagle at a chili contest, but you kind of have to love him for his ceaseless questing. He can write too, now if only the man could learn to use paragraph breaks regularly.

I don’t always agree with his take on being a capital-D Dom, and I certainly have a problem with the fact that he has yet to link my pretty dumb things, but if you like reading intimate portrayals of the D/s experience from the side of the dude, rather than that of the chick, read Roper. He’s smart, British and very naughty. In fact, I think he should be tied up and soundly spanked. Right now.

And finally, don't say that I don't care about your craving for culture, because I am here to nurture you body and soul. It might be a secret, but it's one I want to share with you. Go here and listen to some of your favorite bloggers anonymously read poetic gems for you and you alone.

If you know of links you like, whether they happen to be your own or someone else’s, do let me know. I’m always in the mood for a lovely new read.

Kissykiss,
Chelsea girl

I'd like to see you try!

But thanks for the compliments anyway. Of course I read you religiously. No, that's not the right word. You know what I mean.

Awww shucks, CG. You shouldn't have.

Thanks for mentioning my baby. I'll pass the cigars around at the next blogger soiree.

I must ask, are you one of the bloggers reading poetry? Would very much like to hear what kind of voice goes with these words.

With ya on ms. Syl. She rocks. I'll need ta check them others.

Very nice links - I think I've found some new ones to add to my daily rotation.

CG,

Oh, I'm blushing. Thanks for your kind words. Trust me, the admiration is heartily returned. There's nothing like discovering a fellow sister packing a grad degree and a dirty mind. Love reading you every day.

And KtotheE, you're the king of rock--ain't no one higher.

Miss Syl.

*blush*

Really?! Thank you, thank you...It gives me such a thrill to appear in writing on your blog, surrounded by such lovely adjectives!

I am grateful for the support, and also can't wait to see you over cocktails at the reading.

I'll see about ordering some of them there paragraph breaks but I have a feeling my latest post does not alleviate the problem in any manner. Thank ye, thank ye for the mention. My devotion to your words and fabulousness would not cease even without it.
